John

Principal Broker

With years of experience and customer successes, John Afendulis’ career as a mortgage broker stemmed from a rather personal story.

It all started when he was about to open his own gym, but fate had other plans. The whole world shut down. At a crossroad, John took a leap of faith and bought 2 properties during lockdown, plus worked on his own. This changed his career trajectory entirely. He was inspired to learn more, and entered mortgage broking as a profession. Not that John was any stranger to finance, given his previous background in economics.

Years later, John still upholds his original ethos. When it comes to approaching cases, he believes that taking the complexity out of finance, communicating effectively and being approachable are the pillars to achieving results and finding the right solutions.

Carol

Senior Credit Analyst & Policy Advisor

With 20+ years of experience in finance, Carol has a complete understanding of Prime and Non-Conforming lending, from the Pre-Assessment stage of an application, right through to Credit Assessment. Carol comes from a background in lending, holding a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Brokering Management, and is accredited by the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA).

Her journey began when she was introduced to her first job in in finance by her soon-to-be husband,  It was as quick as walking in and getting the job on the spot.

Though it was a great opportunity, the role was administrative and quickly began to feel dull. Scanning papers all day was not all Carol aspired to.

Mustering up the courage, she approached her manager and said she wanted to resign, as her role was too boring. But little did she know, this would be the decision that changed everything.

Following this, Carol was given the opportunity to analyse home loans. One thing led to the next and she found herself in brokering.

Aside from finance, Carol is a fond baker, passionate about creating sweet treats and decorating cakes.
